OF ANDREAS N. ANGELAKIS
 
Dr. Andreas N. Angelakis has been Water Resources Researcher at the National Agricultural Research Foundation (N.AG.RE.F.), Institute of Crete in Iraklion, Adjunct Prof. at the Technical University of Crete, in Chania and Technical Consultant of Hellenic Union of Municipal Enterprises for Water Supply and Sewerage in Larissa, Greece. His degrees include a B.S. degree in Plant Sciences from the Agricultural University of Athens, Greece, a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Davis, USA,  an M.S. in Soil Science from the University of California,  Riverside, USA and an M.S. in Water Resources and a Ph.D. in Soil Physics from the University of California,  Davis, USA. His research interests are in the areas of wastewater treatment and water reuse, small and decentralized wastewater management systems, and water and wastewater technologies in ancient civilizations. He has authored or co-authored over 450 technical publications and over 4,700 Google citations and an i10-index of 85. He has given in the last years over 150 technical presentations, both in Greece and abroad.
He is an Active Member of European Academy of Sciences and Arts since 03 March 2018. He has recently awarded a Honorary Professor of Hubei Univ. in Wuhan, China. He is a Past President of the European Federation of National Associations of Water and Waste Water Services (EUREAU)  and  served on the Board from 1993 to 2009. Also he was Chairperson person of EUREAU WG on Water Reuse from 2001 to 2007. He was member of International Water Association (IWA) Strategic Council from 2016 to 2019. He is  Chairperson person of IWA SG on Water and Wastewater in Ancient Civilizations from 2006 to present. Among his many honors, he received the IWA Honorary, the IWA Fellow and the IWA Distinguished Fellow Awards in 2010, 2012, and 2015, respectively. Also he received honorary Doctorate degree from Hubei University, Wuhan, China in 2019. Finally, he is became Honorary member of the Hellenic Water Association (HWA) in 2011.
