The 6th Global Conference on Renewables and Energy Efficiency for Desert Regions (GCREEDER 2018) kicked-off Tuesday at the University of Jordan (UJ) under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Hamzah bin Al Hussein. The Conference, which sees the participation of local and international energy experts and academics, is organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the School of Engineering. The opening ceremony featured remarks from Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, Jordan’s Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources; Prof. Azmi Mahafzah, UJ President; and Prof. Abeer Al-Bawab, General Director of the Scientific Research Support Fund (SRSF). The 6th Global Conference on Renewables and Energy Efficiency for DEsert Regions (GCREEDER) follows five successful conferences in 2006, 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2016. All GCREEDER conferences had attracted professionals from industry and academic fields. This conference is organized by the University of Jordan, in cooperation with other Universities in Jordan. Selected papers presented in this conference will be considered for publication in international peer reviewed journals.
