It is with great pleasure and anticipation that I extend a warm welcome to each and every one of you to The University of Jordan’s First Honorary Professors Forum under the patronage of His Excellency the Prime Minister of Jordan. As we gather here from different corners of the world, we embody the spirit of collaboration and the pursuit of knowledge that transcend boundaries.
The words of Al-Hasan Ibn al-Haytham, one of the world’s first true scientists, resonate deeply with us: “If learning the truth is the scientist’s goal… then he must make himself the enemy of all that he reads.” His wisdom reminds us of the essence of scientific inquiry: challenging existing knowledge and persistently seeking truth through experimentation and exchange.
Throughout this forum, we are presented with a distinctive opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue and collaboration. In Session I, we will delve into the roadmap of the University of Jordan (UJ) towards excellence in higher education. From technological integration to fostering diversity and inclusion, our discussions will influence the future of education at UJ, guided by your invaluable experiences and insights.
In Session II, we turn our focus to research, the cornerstone of academic excellence. Together, we will explore strategies to elevate UJ to a world-class status in research. From fostering international cooperation to ensuring research ethics and integrity, your recommendations will pave the way for groundbreaking discoveries and innovations.
As we embark on this journey of knowledge exchange and collaboration, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed honorary professors for their presence. Your wisdom and expertise are invaluable assets, and I am confident that our collective efforts will enrich the academic journey of UJ and beyond.
Once again, welcome to the Honorary Professors Forum, the University of Jordan (UJ), and the Hashemite Kingdom
of Jordan. May our discussions be fruitful, our collaborations enduring, and our pursuit of knowledge unwavering.

Prof. Dr. Nathir Obeidat
