The 10th International Conference on Ethics in the Middle East and North Africa Region.

Under the theme of  Climate, environmental justice, and health equity will take place on July 6th 2025 in collaboration with the 1st Climate Change and Health Conference in the Arab Region that will take place on July 7-8th 2025. Both conferences will be sharing the same registration and venue of the conference at the Intercontinental Amman Hotel.

The International Conference on Ethics in the Middle East and North Africa  has been ongoing for 10 years with support from the Research Ethics Education Program in Jordan that is funded by the US National Institute for Health Fogarty International Center. The past conferences covered controversial ethical challenges in research and practice that were led by international leaders in the fields of ethics, science, and health (see the link for the past conferences and the areas of focus) .

This 10th conference will be focused on an important topic that is rarely addressed in the Arab region, which is environmental justice and health equity as an ethical challenge in research. It aligns with the larger conference being held right after it that is focused on climate change and health in the Arab region.

Abstracts are invited from the scientists and practitioners to address health equity and environmental justice and what it is an ethical challenge but also an obligation towards these vulnerable communities. Topics ranging from air pollution, to water scarcity, soil pollution and waste management, inadequate health policies, political obstacles in research, retaliation against environmental researchers, limited training capacity in environmental ethics, and many other topics are considered a priority for this conference. Other general topics of bioethics are also welcome. We will have poster sessions as well as oral presentations and panels.
Please register with the same registration link for the Climate conference and choose ethics conference if you want your abstract to be considered for this conference.

We look forward to seeing you in Amman in July 2025.
